5 Reasons to Take Your CBD Oil on your Travels

CBD oil can help you to remain calm and collected on your travels. Traveling is often stressful and CBD oil is known to reduce stress and relax the muscles. It can help with a variety of problems, such as experiencing muscle pain, feeling anxious and not getting enough sleep, many of which crop up when traveling. Some people say that their CBD oil is one of the most important items to take with them on a trip.

Deal with Anxiety

For those of you who are particularly anxious when it comes to flying, CBD oil can take help a great deal. Taking your CBD oil before the flight will make you feel relaxed enough to chill out with a good book for the flight, instead of wishing it was over.

Low pressure and high-altitude can make the effects of cannabis unpredictable. One Delta passenger claimed in court that he attacked airline personnel and other passengers because he ate pot brownies before flying. However, thanks to CBD oil, you can reduce your stress and anxiety without having to smoke a joint or eat pot brownies.

Using CBD oil allows you to manage your stress and anxiety without impacting your ability to think clearly. If you are still feeling anxious while in the air, a piece of hemp oil-infused chewing gum or a pump or two of a CBD tincture can be easily introduced into your system and you don’t have to worry about getting high.

Avoid aches and pains
Traveling usually involves sitting for long hours, especially if you go on a long plane flight. Why not try to keep your pain relief natural and safe by using CBD oil?  It has strong anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory qualities and is frequently used to treat pain in joints and to relax muscles. Some recent reports have suggested that it could be a more useful anti-inflammatory than ibuprofen.

The reason it is so effective for pain relief is that it works on the endocannabinoid system which has receptors all over the body. CBD interacts with this system to reduce pain. The recommended dosage for pain relief is one drop taken twice every day. A little topical application of CBD oil to your knees will enable you to sit for longer without any pain.

Prevent Motion Sickness

Motion sickness is also known as travel sickness. Depending upon the cause, it is also referred to as car sickness, seasickness or airsickness. Common symptoms are nausea, vomiting, dizziness, and fatigue.

Almost 33% of people are subject to motion sickness, even in calm circumstances, like being on a boat in calm water. When conditions are more serious, nearly 66% of people experience motion sickness. A rolling ship or a car driving around winding roads can bring on motion sickness. When motion is felt but not seen, the inner ear tells the brain it senses motion but the eyes tell it that all is still. When the brain experiences this discord, it triggers the symptoms.

Studies have shown that cannabinoids have anti-emetic properties. The first trials were conducted on animals such as rats and shrews but more recent studies of humans seem to confirm the findings – CBD suppresses nausea and vomiting. The focus of one study was to establish a correlation between motion sickness and the endocannabinoid system. It was found that motion sickness was associated with impaired endocannabinoid activity. The conclusion was that CBD oil effectively treats nausea and vomiting.

Sleep better

Sleeping in an airplane seat or even in a hotel bed when your body is still functioning in another time zone, can cause a lack of sleep that may ruin the first days of your trip.

In modest doses, CBD will keep you alert and at the same time, you will be calm and relaxed. But when you have sleep issues, you can facilitate a good night’s sleep by using a CBD-rich tincture a few hours before bed.   It is a completely natural sleep aid without any known side-effects. It can prolong the time you spend in the deep sleep phase and help you to wake up feeling refreshed.

No side-effects

CBD oil has no side effects on the central nervous system, mood or vital signs. You can remain calm during long plane flights by using CBD oil instead of having to rely on drugs such as valium or diazepam.

Many people resort to using sleeping pills on a plane or when sleeping in a foreign hotel bed. Unfortunately, most sleeping pills will leave you feeling groggy the next day.

If it is used in proper dosages, CBD reduces pain as well as prescription drugs like morphine and oxycodone. When it’s combined with these drugs, you can use far less of the prescription, reducing the toxic load on your kidneys and liver.

CBD also influences the release and uptake of neurotransmitters, such as dopamine and serotonin which affect mood.

Legal issues

If you’re concerned about the legality of the product you want to carry with you, it depends on whether it’s derived from hemp or from cannabis. If it contains less than 0.3% of THC and the CBD is derived from the stem of hemp plants, it is legal to carry. Hemp can be specifically bred to contain naturally high concentrations of CBD that will be effective without having any psychoactive properties which would make it illegal. Just remember to abide by the TSA’s size limitation of bottles of 3.4oz or smaller. You can put your CBD oil products in with your other toiletries.

However, if the CBD comes from cannabis plants, it is illegal to even if it contains no TCH. This is because the CBD is extracted from the cannabis plant instead of the hemp plant. The TSA is a federal agency, airports are subject to federal laws and TSA security officers can stop you from traveling with any form of cannabis containing THC. That said, CBD oil falls into a kind of gray area and security officers are unlikely to go out of their way to search for cannabis-derived CBD products.
